In 2003, Jennifer Mitchell and Shauna Courtney founded the Summit Learning Center in order to provide individualized direct therapy to children with Autism utilizing the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. It quickly became apparent that the families were looking for more individualized programming than what was available in the metro-Atlanta area. Summit Learning Center began their first summer with a preschool program only 2 mornings per week. This quickly grew into a half-day school program 4 days per week. After the first year, Summit Learning Center grew to offer half-day, full-day and clinic options for children with Autism and related developmental disorders.
During the 2007-2008 school year, Summit Learning Center received accreditation from SACS and became eligible to accept SB-10 Special Needs Scholarship money. Services currently being offered include Full-day/Half-day school programs, Afternoon Clinic, and Consultation services. Our current facility has 5,000 square feet and a fenced-in playground area.
